Balancing and Weighing
Grade Level: 2nd

By stacking blocks and riding bikes, children learn about balance. Take their learning a step further with this hands-on unit, in which students manipulate objects to explore the relationship between balance and weight. Students are also introduced to uniform units of measure, develop skill in recording and graphing data, get a foundation for the concept of density, and solve problems involving weight.

Part of the Science and Technology for Children® curriculum, this unit is aligned with the National Science Education Standards and offers complete hands-on instruction. Unit Kit comes with a Teacher's Guide and materials needed for a class of 30 students to complete the unit in about 8 weeks. Refurbishment Set replenishes kit consumables.
